Contaminated Water

A Nova Scotia resident has taken another legal step in a rare private prosecution over alleged contaminated drinking water.

Marlene Brown of Harrietsfield served a numbered company with a summons yesterday.

The private prosecution was initiated last month and includes charges of violating sections of Nova Scotia’s Environment Act.

Brown says she and other residents have suffered from contaminated drinking water for more than a decade, and alleges the polluter has not complied with provincial orders.
