The Amherst Police Department audit of unfounded sexual assault complaints has found they shouldn’t have been so high.  26% of files should have been closed that way, not 51%. The national average of unfounded cases is 19%.

A decade ago, the Cumberland YCMA was on the verge of closing due to a debt of 200 thousand dollars and aging infrastructure that needed to be repaired or replaced.

Now, they’re doing quite well as a youth centre opened during the last year; and they have a strong membership base.
