The Canadian Free Trade Agreement comes into effect tomorrow. Along with making it easier to do interprovincial trade, it establishes a new framework for review over the next year in areas like alcohol, fisheries, territorial food sector and financial services. About half of Nova Scotia’s trade in goods and services is interprovincial.

Blue lobster caught in Strait area released
A blue lobster caught in the Northumberland Strait has been released. “Blue” was saved by a fish plant worker in Arisaig, Antigonish County. Tim Wallace kept it as a pet for three weeks before the release.
