Nobody was hurt but a man lost his dog and his home to a fire in Coldbrook on Saturday. The fire broke out around 3am and badly damaged the mini-home on Maple Court. The man living at the residence was at work at the time but he did lose his dog to blaze. The Red cross is currently providing assistance. There’s no word yet on what caused the fire.

Woman Arrested for Waving Knife in Downtown Halifax
A woman is facing weapons charges after waving a knife at people in downtown Halifax on Friday night. Police say they were called to 3300 block of Barrington Street shortly after 7pm. When police arrived at the scene the woman went back inside her residence. She was eventually taken into custody about half an hour later. The 31-year-old woman has been charged with possession of a weapon, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and causing a disturbance.
