Amherst police say that vandalism is a serious concern.
Windows have been smashed by rocks at businesses on Church Street, bathrooms have been vandalized at some of the parks; and a manhole cover was stolen on Croft Street.
The splash park was also hit, along with the Lions Park.
Constable Tom Wood told the Citizen-Record that some obvious signs of impending mischief is when a youth buys ten cans of spray paint, or three dozen eggs.
