The Crown didn’t want to take any chance on a ten-year-old murder case being thrown out by a judge and got the trial date moved up.
The trial date for Raymond Glenn Farrow in the 2006 death of Harold “Buster” Slaunwhite in Glace Bay was originally set this week for March of 2019. But prosecutor Diane MacGrath thought the 27 month delay would be cutting it too close to the time limits set by the Supreme Court of Canada for putting a person on trial. So she went back to the judge and the lawyers agreed to begin the trial in October of 2018.
