74 year old Arthur LeBlanc, originally from West Arichat, is the first Acadian to serve in the vice-regal post. The former provincial supreme court justice says the deportation of his ancestors is a dark period in Nova Scotia’s history but that the Acadians are a resilient people and have done very well in the province.
