Premier Stephen McNeil says the government is not yet ready to call a public inquiry into the triple murder-suicide case involving Lionel Desmond, but isn’t ruling it out.
Calling it a tragic event, McNeil said Health Authority officials will meet with Desmond’s family next week to share the findings of a confidential review into how the health-care system dealt with the former soldier. He added that the family deserves that accounting first and no further steps will be taken until after the family and the medical examiner are briefed.
