City working on traffic issues around events centre

The City of Moncton is getting ready to deal with transportation issues before the opening of the new downtown events centre in September next year.

The City has put together a plan to help spectators get to and from events easily and efficiently. It takes into consideration not just cars but public transit, pedestrians, bicycles and parking.

The next step is to look at the implementation strategy for the 17 categories of action items such as accessibility, designated pick-up and drop-off zones and so on. They’re looking at different strategies depending on the size of events up to 10,000 people.
