More calls for public inquiry into triple murder-suicide

The family is not happy that the medical examiner has refused to hold a investigation into a triple murder-suicide in January in Upper Big Tracadie.

The Justice Department isn’t saying why Dr. Matt Bowes decided against an investigation into Lionel Desmond killing his mother, wife and daughter in their home. The former Afghan war vet was suffering from PTSD before killing his family and then himself.

Shanna Desmond’s aunt, Catherine Hartling, has renewed her call for some sort of public inquiry.

Meanwhile, a former navy sailor is furious the medical examiner decided not to hold a fatality inquiry.  Gregory Swiatkowski says other vets who have struggled with PTSD want to know more about what happened in Desmond’s case.
