Campbellton transient trader bylaw

Campbellton council is going to take another look at the transient trader bylaw which would charge food trucks from out of the area up to 5 thousand dollars a day.

However, the president of the local chamber of commerce; Regis Maltais, says people should shop local to keep money locally.

Things got stirred up after the Moncton-based Bangkok Food Truck was told it would have to pay 500 dollars an hour for up to 10 hours a day.

The truck went to Atholville instead.

Maltais strongly defended the bylaw, adding that in the past; outside vendors had come in with large trucks selling items, hurting local businesess.
