It was Halifax police who let the dogs out — and then fined their owner nearly 17-hundred-and-50 dollars for leaving them in a sweltering car.
Passersby spotted the dogs “in distress” Thursday afternoon in downtown Halifax and called police.
Police say one of the car’s windows had been left open just enough for officers to open the door and let the dogs out.
The dogs were then taken to a shady area and given water.
