Mounties testify at RCMP trial

A Mounty testified at the RCMP Labour Code trial yesterday that he was sent for carbine training months after the deaths in June of 2014. But Constable Andrew Johnstone told the trial he had to excuse himself from the training because the rapid gunfire gave him flashbacks to that terrible night.

He testified about going to his patrol car to unwrap his new body armour and put it on…but he put it on backward because he had no practical training on how to use it.

Another officer recalled feeling blood stream down her body after she was shot twice by Justin Bourque.  Constable Darlene Goguen, one of two officers wounded in the massacre where three others were killed, told court she was afraid if other officers came to her aid, they would also be shot.
