The soccer and baseball fields at Middleton’s Rotary Park is off-limits due to a grub infestation.
About 75 per cent of the turf on the baseball field has been ruined by birds and other wild animals hunting for grubs.
The grass on the ball field will have to be replaced, the soccer field will be treated with a “compost tea” containing nematodes.
Nematodes are bugs that eat grubs.
