New RSC8 chairman Thom Parkhill of Codys feels that all members should be heard.
Parkhill, a retiring university professor; has taken over as chair, replacing Sussex Mayor Marc Thorne.
He lives in the local service district of Johnston and started going to the public meetings of the commission when it was formed four years ago.
He was then voted as an alternate on the board and then elected to the board in 2015.
