The blue guitar has been passed to Halifax for next year’s ECMAs. This year’s festival was estimated to be worth about $3 million to Saint John.
A new report was also presented at the event. It calls for a comprehensive Atlantic music strategy, saying it’s hindered here by a lack of infrastructure, stringent liquor laws and restrictions on live venues. It also recommends creating an Atlantic Canadian Music Fund.
