Pugwash water debate

Eighty-five per cent of people living on the Pugwash Point and the Gulf Shore Road don’t want new water mains on those roads.

People would have to pay just over 4 thousand dollars each to be hooked up.

The main is part of a 15 million dollar project to bring clean drinking water to Pugwash.

Council approved the extension as arsenic and uranium can be found in some of the water tests.

Some residents don’t think the water on Pugwash Point Road or Gulf Shore Road is at the same level of contamination as in Pugwash Village.
