Valley weekend sports

Berwick boxer Josh Jay will represent Nova Scotia at the Canadian Senior boxing championships.  Josh is a 3 time Nova Scotia champ and is an Atlantic Silver medalist.  He trains at the Canning Boxing Club and will be competing in the Light Welterweight Division.  The championships run April 24 to the 30th in Quebec City.

Wheel Chair racer Ben Brown will be competing at home this weekend.  Ben will be in the Apple Tree Foundation 5 K. road race, which starts at ten in the morning on  Sunday at the Waterville Rehab Center.  Registration begins at 8:30 for the 5 and 10 K road races.  Ben reminds you that athletes are back training outdoors, so keep a look out for their safety.

The Valley Wildcats Major Midgets and Bantams hockey ID camps are set to begin next month.  The Midgets will start May 19th and the Bantams May 20th.  The cost of registration is $100.00 at the Acadia Arena.  For more go to valleywildcats.ca and check out the news section.
