The McNeil Government is encouraged by a ruling by a NAFTA panel which ordered the U-S Commerce Department to reconsider costly tarriffs on Canadian mills that produce glossy magasine paper…like Port Hawkesbury Paper.
The panel unanimously ordered the department to look at various key matter including electricity when setting duties. The province says the 20% duty which was applied to Port Hawkesbury Paper has been held in trust while this matter was appealed.
