The Crown is appealing a judge’s decision which threw out manslaughter charges against two Bathurst police officers.
The Crown says the judge made a jurisdictional error when she tossed out all charges against Constables Patrick Bulger and Matthieu Boudreau at a preliminary hearing. They were charged with killing Tracadie businessman Michel Vienneau at the Bathurst train station in 2015.
Vienneau’s partner has also launched a civil lawsuit claiming police negligence.
