The consultant’s report on Miramichi fire operations came out at last night’s special council meeting. It includes recommending the city hire a full-time fire prevention officer, and a “public fire and life safety educator”. Prevention and education were two of the report’s main points, but it didn’t say whether to hire more firefighters, as the local union wants.
