An Amherst area woman reported that she was defrauded out of 700 dollars due to a cash loan scam.
The victim dealt with an online cash-loan website looking to get a loan.
She was “approved” by the company, which then requested money be transferred for “insurance purposes.”
Once it was transferred, the scammers tried to get more cash from the victim.
