New Brunswick’s premier says a government investigation into a property assessment scandal will not be affected by the upcoming three-week break in the legislative session. Brian Gallant says he is very troubled to hear allegations from a whistleblower that more than two-thousand property owners were given improper and inflated tax bills. Gallant says the errors happened because assessments were done hastily and improperly by Service New Brunswick, adding that serious action will be taken to rectify the situation.
