Somebody has been passing phoney American money around HRM.
Police say they have 8 reports of counterfeit $20, $50 and $100 dollar US bills being passed in the area since last month. They’ve been passed in financial institutions in Halifax and Dartmouth and businesses in Tantallon and Fall River.
Police are also advising people that they don’t have to accept money they suspect could be counterfeit. However, once you do, you are not entitled to reimbursement.
