Premier insists election before boundary changes would be legitimate

Premier Stephen McNeil says there is no question an election would be legitimate if he calls it with the current electoral boundaries.

The opposition parties have threatened to go to court if McNeil calls the vote before Acadian riding boundaries are changed as per a court order. McNeil said yesterday the government and the Acadian federation are discussing terms of reference for a new boundary review but there’s no guarantee the boundaries will be redrawn before he calls the election.
