Municipal Affairs Minister Zach Churchill says taxpayers won’t be paying for alcohol on the expense bills of councillors and municipal staff.
Churchill says a new bill will be introduced to bring the expense rules for municipalities in line with those of provincial politicians. This comes after the scandal in Richmond County. The Ombudsman criticized expense claims for thousands of dollars spent on alcohol and $582 for visits to two Texas strip clubs.
