A 32 year old man is facing charges after a cop was punched in the face during an arrest.
Officers were called to a George Street residence Wednesday night about an assault. When they got there, they found a man trying to get in. When they said he was under arrest one officer was punched in the face. The suspect then fled on foot but they chased him down quickly.
The suspect was under a court order to keep the peace and be of good behaviour. So now he’s charged with violating that order as well as assaulting police and other charges. He’ll be in court at a later date.
