Halifax police issue warning about fentanyl on the streets now

Police are warning that fentanyl has hit the streets of Halifax now.

Police issued a public advisory yesterday saying they had seized oxycodone pills that had been cut with fentanyl after searches in January. Fake oxycodone pills are typically dark green or light blue and have stamps showing “CDN” on one side and “80” on the other.

Experts say it only takes a couple of milligrams on Fentanyl to kill a person. That’s why hundreds of people have died of drug overdoses across the country in the past few months.
