Tomorrow afternoon at 5, the Canadian Red Cross will close a temporary office set up three weeks ago at the Inkerman Community Centre on the Acadian Peninsula to aid those most severely impacted financially by the January 24th ice storm and power outages.
After March 2nd, clients still awaiting money by a prepaid credit card will be directed to their nearest Red Cross office once their card is available for pickup.
In most cases, this will be the office at 613-5 Trout River Road in Tracadie during normal business hours.
That program is to help those with low incomes cope with storm and power outage-related losses not covered by insurance, the province’s Disaster Financial Assistance program; or other support programs.
