The big cleanup continues…and it’s going to take some time.
Crews have been working all night to widen the streets. They have also been hauling snow away and working on sidewalks…but there will still be some areas where people will be walking on the streets so slow down and watch out for them.
Because of all the snow that’s piled up from four storms in a week and a half, Moncton Public Works Director Don Morehouse told cbc the challenge is where to put it all. They’ve hauled at least a thousand truckloads to the snow dumping area set up a few years ago. He also said it’s going to take a couple of weeks to get the streets widened and the sidewalks cleared.
The one good point is that things seem to have calmed down with no significant snow in the forecast now…and milder temperatures should help melt some of it.
