Not guilty verdict in home invasion

A 33 year old Saint John man has been found not guilty on home invasion charges. Mathew Paul Martin was on trial on a number of charges in connection with a home invasion on the east side in May.

Justice Thomas Christie in his decision yesterday questioned the testimony of the man convicted of the actual robbery.

Christie has been in custody on remand for seven months…and while free on these charges he’s not clear yet. He’s still facing a trial next year on a mischief charge dating back to January.
