Ottawa fights fentanyl crisis

Ottawa plans to make it easier to set up supervised drug injection sites. At the same time, it’s cracking down on illegal shipments of fentanyl and restricting the importation of equipment used to make pills and capsules.

Health Minister Jane Philpott says this is a public-health approach to the drug control strategy. She says the deadly opioid and fentanyl crisis is a national problem, although it’s especially bad out west.
