Millions for waste water treatment plant

Ottawa and the province will be contributing $45.2 million for an upgraded waste-water treatment plant in Riverview. Transaqua will also fund another $45.2 million through the three municipal governments.

TransAqua chairman David Muir says the utility, which replaces the former Greater Moncton Wastewater Commission, will be able to maintain its rates for Moncton, Riverview and Dieppe residents in the short and medium term. He said the goal is to clean up the water going into the Petitcodiac River.
