Ottawa is expected to announce the replacement for the aging fleet of search and rescue planes today.
The Chretien government first launched plans 14 years ago to replace the Buffalo and Hercules aircraft, some of which have been flying since the 1960s. Industry sources say Europe’s Airbus has won the design competition.
