Opposition Leader Jamie Baillie says the goverment’s approach to electoral boundaries smacks of an old-fashioned back room deal.
Baillie says his party is considering legal options if the McNeil Government calls an election without first redrawing some riding boundaries to reflect the Acadian population. A recent court decision said the previous government was wrong to redraw the boundaries to include more English speakers.
The government has been talking to the Acadian Federation about how to proceed but hasn’t revealed its plans.
