The District Education Council has put off a decision on a new school for Moncton’s west end for another month, according to the Times and Transcript.
The D-E-C is considerng whether to ask the province to build a larger new school to replace Hillcrest School and nearby Bessborough. The main problem is with Bessborough which failed a midlife assment and upgrading it is cost prohibitive. Chairman Harry Doyle and Council member Norval McConnell, who represent Hillcrest and Bessborough, say they need more time to consult with parents….especially when it comes to possibly closing Hillcrest.
