Hundreds of people turned out at the Miner’s Museum in Glace Bay for the Davis Day Memorial.
Davis’ great-grandson Sheldon MacDonald and his family attended the ceremony on behalf of the family of the man killed by coal company cops during a strike in 1925.
MacDonald told the Cape Breton Post he thinks Davis really is the face of miners, the name to put to all of the miners and all of the struggles they went through over the years.
