A fisherman was rescued from Halfway River on Friday night, near where another missing fisherman died the week before. Hantsport Deputy Fire chief tells Kings County News they were called for assistance shortly after 9pm when the middle aged man failed to show up to meet family at a designated spot. The fisherman reportedly fell from a canoe and swam to shore. The Kings County News reports that the man was wet and hypothermic when he was found about an hour later. Rescuers hauled the man from the river bank in a basket and he was transported to hospital for treatment.
