A Nor’easter pounded Newfoundland and Labrador yesterday after burying Nova Scotia Saturday night and early Sunday.

The Annapolis Valley seemed to get the most snow with 30cms.

Halifax measured 23cm and Sydney got off easier this time with 12cm.

At the peak about 6,000 Nova Scotia Power customers were left without electricity yesterday, but everybody was hooked back up last night.

Moncton connection to a Florida shooting

A group of vacationers from Moncton just missed getting caught up in that shooting at the Fort Lauderdale Airport Friday.

Estaban Santiago is charged with an act of violence at an international airport which could result in the death penalty.

Jeff Foster of Riverview told the Times and Transcript their Air Canada flight was late leaving Montreal, otherwise they would have been at the baggage area at the time of the shooting.

He says they were stuck on the plane on the tarmac for about 8 hours while police sorted the situation out.
