Sydney is getting a new fire truck worth $1.3 million.
The aerial truck will be housed at the main fire station in Sydney while the current aerial truck will move to North Sydney.
The Thanksgiving Day flood damaged the North Sydney aerial truck which was in Sydney for repairs. A ladder truck from Halifax has been on loan here, but they need it back.
Zeb Brown, a lawyer from The Valley; wil be representing Thomas Ted Barrett, a Glace Bay man charged with second-degree murder with the May 2012 death of Laura Catherine Jessome of Bras d’Or whose remains were found inside a hockey bag along the shores of the Mira River in Marion Bridge.
Jessome had been strangled.
Last year, Barrett was found guilty in the second degree murder of 19-year-old Brett Elizabeth McKinnon.
