Storm Deaths

Two people are dead and thousands are still without power from an ice storm that wreaked havoc on northern New Brunswick.

Premier Brian Gallant says the two deaths were caused by carbon monoxide poisoning related to the storm.

R-C-M-P say the victims were a 62-year-old man and a 74-year-old woman, who died in separate incidents on the province’s Acadian Peninsula.

The province has been rushing more resources to areas affected by Wednesday’s storm, which left up to two inches of ice build-up in some places.
