A lobster fisherman off the coast of Lockport,NS was rescued by helicopter on Saturday after falling overboard. The 32-year-old man had been struck in the chest by a lobster trap before falling into the icy water. The man’s crew mates were able to retrieve the man but he was suffering from hypothermia. A Cormorant helicopter from CFB Greenwood airlifted the man to the Yarmouth Regional Hospital.

Unemployment Rates Drop in Maritime Provinces
Unemployment rates in each Maritime province dropped last month. PEI’s unemployment rate dropped from 10.5 percent in December to 9.8 percent in January. Despite losing 3-thousand net jobs, fewer people looking for work helped drop New Brunswick unemployment rate drop to 8.9 percent. Stats Can says jobs added in Nova Scotia dropping the unemployment rate to 7.7 per cent down from 8.3 per cent in December.
