Man charged with fleeing in stolen vehicle

A 28-year-old man from Mira Road appeared in Sydney Provincial Court this morning after fleeing police in a stolen vehicle.

Eric Gordon Fraser is charged with Possession of Property (Stolen Vehicle) Obtained by Crime, Dangerous Operation of a Motor Vehicle, Flight from Police, Resisting Arrest and a Breach of Probation.

Cape Breton Regional Police arrested Fraser yesterday afternoon after a short pursuit. Police had been looking for an F150 previously reported stolen on April 15th from Master Auto Care on George Street in Sydney. At approximately 3:00 PM Monday, the vehicle was spotted on Welton Street heading towards Grand Lake Road.

Foul play ruled out for body found in Sydney

An autopsy has been completed on the remains found in the Ash Street area of Sydney on Saturday, April 15th, ruling out any foul play in the death. Police have now cleared the scene.

Identification of the victim cannot yet be confirmed; members of the Major Crime and Forensic Identification Units will continue working with the Medical Examiner’s Office until a positive identification can be made.
