Police Still Looking for Missing Sydney Woman

Police in Cape Breton say they are still searching for Sydney woman who went missing more than a month ago. Debbie Ann Hutchinson hasn’t been seen since April 14. Her burned out vehicle was discovered nine days later in Cossitt Heights. Hutchinson is described as five feet tall, roughly 95 pounds, with graying hair and brown eyes. Cape Breton Regional Police are continuing to appeal to the public for any information regarding her disappearance.

No Charges in Richmond County Expense Scandal

There will be no criminal investigation and no charges in the Richmond County expense scandal. Nova Scotia RCMP said in a letter Thursday that a review of the case didn’t turn up enough evidence to warrant a criminal investigation into allegations of fraud and breach of trust. The review followed a stinging ombudsman’s report delivered after allegations of runaway spending and expense account cheating by Richmond County officials were made public before the last municipal election.
