Marine protection plan

The Trudeau Liberals will be spending 1.5 billion dollars of taxpayer’s money for a marine protection plan over the next five years.

Environment Minister Catherine McKenna was at the Coast Guard offices in Dartmouth to make the announcement.

She said the Coast Guard and Bedford Institute of Oceanography will be getting more funding, and there’ll be a new radar station at Chedabucto.

McKenna also said the government will be drawing on the traditional knowledge and expertise of Indigenous communities to protect coasts and waterways more effectively.

U.S. election

Both Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton campaigned late into the night on the eve of an historic election day today.

They were trying to firm up support in the battleground states that could either way.

Clinton said the stakes are high and urged voters to embrace what she calls a “hopeful, inclusive; big-hearted America.”

Donald Trump again said the electoral system is rigged and called for support to beat the corrupt system.
