The Cape Breton Post reports Mayor Cecil Clarke and the 12 councillors got towork with each councillor outlining their priorities for the term ahead. A common theme was concern about transparency, closed-door meetings; the posting of expenses, and port development.
A 28-year-old Sydney man will be back in court next month on dozens of charges.
Albert Roy Francis of Yorke Street is facing 23 counts of breaching court orders as well as drug and impaired driving counts. Francis was in court briefly yesterday and consented to a remand in custody until December 19.
