Prairie storm

Residents of southern Saskatchewan and Manitoba are digging out from a Christmas blizzard that closed parts of the Trans-Canada highway and left people stuck for the holidays. There were major delays and cancellations at airports.

The City of Winnipeg, which got over 30cms of snow, asked people to limit their travel….but the shopping malls tweeted they were open for Boxing Day sales yesterday.

Violent Christmas in Chicago

It was a very violent Christmas in Chicago with 40 people shot over the holiday weekend. That included one Christmas party where two people were killed and several wounded.  Police say most of the shootings were attacks by one gang against another who had gathered for holiday parties.
