DFO says nothing appears out of the ordinary in St. Marys Bay. Testing has shown the environment to be normal, as have pictures of the bottom. Shallow water in the area recently dropped to -5, with that and rough surf being a possible cause of dead marine life washing ashore.

Five Homeless after Glace Bay Fire
Five people are homeless after a fire broke out in Glace Bay Friday. The Brian’s Barber Shop building, which also has apartments, went ablaze in the morning and suffered a lot of damage. Everyone got out safely.
