Leonard Drive rehab

Sussex Mayor Marc Thorne says provincial taxpayer’s will cover a 700 thousand dollar rehab project for Leonard Drive.

That provincially-owned street has the hospital, two schools; and an RCMP station, along with the 8th Hussars Sports Centre.

Thorne added that Leonard Drive is in sad shape, with open or no ditches; and the asphalt has completely failed.

1.2 kilometres of Leonard and connecting Eveleigh Street will get underground storm sewer infrastructure, along with curb and gutter work.

Poley Mountain report

Poley Mountain’s ski season is going to wrap up on a good note, due to some snowy spring days.

General manager Bill Anderson says they have mid-season ski conditions at the moment.

When the season closes on Sunday, Poley will have been open for 92 days; within its goal of between 92 and 95 days of skiing.
