Sussex skating coach getting national award

A Sussex skating coach is getting a national award.  The Record reports Stacey Charlton is getting the Skate Canada Club and Recreational Coach Award of Excellence.  She helped develop a program for disabled kids to use sledges to skate with able-bodied skaters, and create a sledge hockey league.  The Sussex Skating Club head coach will be flown to Ontario in June to be honoured.

Sussex Vimy ceremony

This Sunday is the 100th anniversary of the Battle of Vimy Ridge.

The 8th Hussars Regimental Museum will mark that defining event in Canadian World War I history with a painting of the battle.

Artist Fred Harrison, known for many of the murals in Sussex; did the painting.

It will officially be unveiled during the anniversary ceremonies with a special presentation at the Sussex Legion starting at 1:30 in the afternoon on April 9th.
